Apr. 2005 Research Center reorganized into the three laboratories: the Functional Material Research Laboratory, the Electronic Material Research Laboratory, and the Advanced Material Research Laboratory. Jan. 2008 Sold the shares it owned in Hitachi Housetec Co., Ltd., spinning off the housing equipment and environmental facilities businesses. May 2008 Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd. was delisted from the stock market. Apr. 2008 Hitachi Powdered Metals Co., Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. Apr. 2008 Integrated its R&D functions in the areas of functional materials and electronic materials into the Advanced Materials R&D Center and New Applied Materials R&D Center. Sep. 2009 Established the Tsukuba Research Laboratory by integrating the Advanced Materials R&D Center and the New Applied Materials R&D Center. Apr. 2010 Integrated the Goshomiya Works into the Shimodate Works.
